The ERAB e-Newsletter – Issue 14IMAG Conference – Register NowThis year ERAB is organising the 38th IMAG Conference in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th October 2014. ERAB’s 10th Anniversary Lifetime Achievement AwardERAB is delighted to have received seven excellent nominations for its 10th Anniversary Lifetime Achievement Award. Nominations were received from all over Europe and these were supported from as far away as the USA and Japan. ERAB would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took the time to send a nomination. The successful recipient of this award will be announced at the IMAG conference in Amsterdam on 14th October. Applications received in 2014The deadline for applications for 2014 closed on Monday 7th April. This year ERAB has again received a large number of applications – another record – 59 – the highest number received to date. This year applications have been received from 13 countries. As usual many of them came from the UK but this year applications from The Netherlands and Spain exceeded those from Italy. We also received 5 from Germany, 4 from Denmark, and 3 each from Finland, Portugal and Sweden, and for the first time we have received an application from Israel. The split between biomedical and psychosocial subjects was 45 / 14. As before the majority of applicants had heard about ERAB funding from a colleague or via ERAB either as a past applicant, the website, the newsletter or an acknowledgement in a published paper. The applications will now be independently peer reviewed before a decision is made on which can be funded. The process takes several months to complete and the decisions will be made in the autumn, in time for contracts to be signed and the projects commenced early in the new year. |
