The ERAB e-Newsletter – Issue 16IMAG ConferenceThe 38th IMAG conference was organised by ERAB: the European Foundation for Alcohol Research in Amsterdam on 13th and 14th October 2014.
An open invitation attracted some 75 delegates; both scientists and brewing sector representatives. The speakers had been selected to provide expert overviews of key biomedical and psychosocial topics of relevance to both the medical community and ERAB’s sponsors. The four topics were ” Drivers of Behaviour”, “All Cause Mortality”, “Individual Versus Population Prevention” and “The Health Effects of Moderate Consumption of Beer, Wine and Spirits”.

ERAB’s 10th Anniversary Lifetime Achievement AwardERAB was pleased to announce the winner of its10th Anniversary Lifetime Achievement Award on the occasion of the 38th IMAG conference – 13th and 14th October 2014. The winner, Professor Emeritus Gian Luigi Gessa of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Cagliari , Italy, was presented with €20,000 and a commemorative plate.
