The ERAB Advisory Board have decided that from 2018 applications which concern only animal research are discouraged. This will not affect the applications made in 2017.
The Board Members regret this decision but believe that research on humans or which combines research on animals and humans is more likely to lead to findings that will more immediately impact on human health than research on animals only. Although regrettable, the Board considered that this was the most sensible approach given the limited amount of funds available.
