The ERAB e-Newsletter – Issue 11Applications received in 2013The deadline for applications for 2013 closed on Monday 7th April. This year ERAB has again received a large number of applications – a record 56 – the highest number received to date. This year applications have been received from 13 European countries. As usual many of them came from the UK and Italy but we aso had 10 from The Netherlands, 6 from Spain, 5 from Sweden and 4 from Portugal and for the first time we have received an application from Georgia. The split between biomedical and psychosocial subjects was 39 / 17. As before the majority of applicants had heard about ERAB funding from a colleague or via ERAB either as a past applicant, the website, the newsletter or an acknowledgement in a published paper. The applications will now be independently peer reviewed before a decision is made on which can be funded. The process takes several months to complete and the decisions will be made in the autumn, in time for contracts to be signed and the projects commenced early in the new year.
